2011 Event Information and Highlights

TAPS would like to thank everyone who was able to join us for this year's Rockin' & Ridin' for TAPS events as well as all the business and committee volunteers who generously supported to make this years event another success!! Cost: $15.00/bike (single) or $20.00 (double)

1) Entrance admission to Rockin Event (end point of ride)
2) Lottery Drawing for Prize Money @ VFW
3) Last bike in by 5:30 pm

Start Time/Sign-In: 10:00 am at McDuff's (Route 29) in Pekin IL

Route:

Start: McDuffs Rte. 29 South, Pekin, IL PH: (309)353-9819

Stop 1: McDucks Rte 9 Banner, IL PH: (309)647-4042
(Directions: Leaving McDuffs turn left on route 29 and go over the Pekin Bridge. Turn left onto route 24. Take route 24 all the way to Banner. At banner there is a Y intersection, McDucks is on the left. Approx ?? miles)

Stop 2: Billy’s Bar Elm St. Canton, IL PH: (309)647-9639
(Directions: Leaving McDucks, turn left on Rte 9 to Canton. At first stop sign in Canton, turn right onto S. 5th Ave. & go to Elm Street. Turn left and bar is on the left. Approx 8 miles)

Stop 3: Brown Jug Rte 116 Trovoli, IL PH: (309)362-0025
(Directions: Leaving Billy’s Bar, go back to Rte 9/5th Ave. and turn left. Stay on Rte 9 to Rte. 78 North. Rte 78 becomes Rte 116. Stay on Rte 116 to Trivoli and bar is on the left. Approx. 18 miles)

Stop 4: Mooney’s Pub Farmington Rd Peoria, IL PH: (309)674-8220
(Directions: Stay on Rte 116 to Farmington Rd and turn left. Mooney’s is the second bar on the left, just past I-Too Hall, approx. 12 miles.)

Stop 5: McCritters 2801 Court St. Pekin, IL PH (309)642-6556
(Directions: Continue on Farmington Rd to Creek Rd and turn right. At end of Creek Rd turn right onto Rte 24 to Rte 9. At Rt 9 turn left towards Pekin. Cross the bridge. Stay on Rte 29, it will turn into Court St. Continue on Court St, you will pass Food Depot, McCritters is another 6 blocks on the left hand side.

Stop 6 (End Point): Pekin VFW Post #1232 VFW Road Pekin, IL PH: 309-346-9155
(Directions: Turn left out of McCritters and take a right onto Veterans Dr. Turn left onto Towerline Rd. Take a right onto VFW Rd. The VFW Hall is about 1 mile on the left hand side.
