Ways to Give

TAPS is a non-profit organization that is funded by donations and adoptions. All donations are tax deductible and help support the operational expenses of TAPS.

There are other ways you might help TAPS besides adopting a pet or volunteering to help at the shelter. Consider sending a regular donation to TAPS or remembering TAPS in your will. You'll know you're helping not only the shelter animals, but also the families whose lives are enriched by the addition of a TAPS pet.

dog house bank

Look for the Gimme Shelter doghouse banks at area businesses.  The money collected goes toward food, shelter and other operating costs associated with providing for the animals on a day-to-day basis.

Pet Pantry Donations

TAPS is trying to get quality food for our cats and dogs and you can help. For every $1.00 you donate to The Pet Pantry for TAPS, they will match it and provide the equal amount to the shelter in dog or cat food.   For more information, visit their website and select the Donate link on the home page.

Can Recycling Program

Cans can be brought to the home of Rich and Cherie Lee at 206 Hemlock in Pekin and can be left on the north side of the house.  Click here to read a recent newspaper article about the Lees.

You can call 346-0933 for more information.

Stacy's Country Candles

Stacy's Country Candles will donate 10% of every purchase to TAPS. Click here to visit their website and learn more about how you can purchase some great candles and help the shelter at the same time.

Cash for Trash

Please save your empty inkjet and laser printer cartridges and old cell phones and bring them to TAPS. Cartridges can be placed in a plastic bag to minimize the mess. We are participating in a recycling program and will receive cash for each one we send in. The company even pays for the shipping. This great venture gives a double benefit - we earn money to support the operations at the shelter, and we help the environment in which we all live.

Sign Up to Help TAPS at iGive.com Logo. This is a community of retail stores where you can shop. A percentage of your total purchases will be donated to TAPS through this website. It costs you nothing and helps us raise money.

Through a partnership with Petfinder, Kuranda USA is offering a donation program for its Kuranda Dog Beds to shelters and rescue groups.  You can arrange to donate a Kuranda Kuranda bedDog Bed to your favorite TAPS dog for a fraction of the normal retail price by clicking here.

Our animals love to snuggle up in a warm blanket.  You can help by donating yarn to make them.  Any type will work.  Old, new, thick or thin.
